Windows 10: Recent File Cannot be Shown in Apps pinned in Start Menu

Hi Microsoft,I just switch from Win10 to Win11.In Win10, for the pinned apps of Word, Excel and Powerpoint in the Start menu, right click the mouse button can show the recent used files.However in Win 11, this function is disappeared for pinned apps in Start menu. It seems only when pinned Word, Excel & Powerpoint in the taskbar can show the recent used files by right click the mouse button.May I know how to enable this function back to Start menu? or If this function is now removed in Win 11, what is the reason for removal?Tks & Rgds,CC Li

It doesn't work off the start menu in win10, I posted the same a few weeks ago.

Oddly, if the programs appear in most recent used, then you do get the recent files list. Or if you pin to the task bar, you also get the recent list if you right click the icon.

Microsoft's proper name for these recent files is jump list.

Some has shown a beta of a later win10, and the jump list might return if pinned to the start menu. Doubly annoying is if you pin a program to the start menu, it's removed from most used.

Unable to Pin a File to Start Menu App

Pinning files to an app's Start Menu icon seems to be an ongoing OS problem in Win 10, MS Office 365.

I have MS Office 365 installed and updated. The apps are all on the Start Menu, Word and Excel are pinned there. When I right-click on the Word app icon, the context menu and MRU list is displayed with a single pinned file and a list of recent files.
If I right-click on one of those recent files and select "Pin to this list" or click on the pin icon on the right, the file replaces the one in the pinned section. Attempts to pin any file simply replaces the one that's there. It appears that I can have
only one file pinned at a time.

The files I'm trying to pin exist. I can open them from the MRU list.

This doesn't happen with the Excel MRU list, just Word's.

Troubleshooter reports no problems. SFC reports no problems. Win 10 is fully updated as of today.

Please, don't ask me to reset the OS or reinstall Office...those solutions are overkill and just desperate attempts at proper troubleshooting.

Showing your recently opened items from the Start menu may not be enabled. For you to see your pinned or recently opened files for each app in the apps list, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Start.
2. Toggle on the Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar option.

Once the option is enabled, try opening some files from any of your Office apps. The recently opened files should now appear under
Recent when you right-click a particular app in the App list. Please note that once this option is disabled or toggled off, all the recently opened files will be removed from the
Start menu and from the File Explorer > Quick access.
