Realtek Audio Output stopped working after latest update. Sound & Volume mixer indiucates no audio output devices found. Windows 11 PRO and Dell upates are all current so what do I do?

Volume mixer system sounds doesn't work right

After the Windows 10 upgrade, I have the same issue. With volume mixer opened, the system sound level is as adjusted. When volume mixer is closed the sound goes up to an annoying high level. (By example: User account control warning). The system sound volume
setting is kept in the mixer, but when closed it is not interpreted by the system.

I have Realtek High Definition Audio installed, and udated the driver to the latest available version 6.0.1.7571, but this has no effect.

I have a very odd behavior in Windows 10 now with the Threshold Update:

DTS 5.1 sound now works with my Realtek ALC 1150 device. Great!

However, the main windows 10 volume mixer does not correlate with the volume mixer in the realtek HD Audio app.

When I change the Windows 10 volume mixer (volume up or down) it does not apply to all audio channels (speaker channels) simultaneously. Some are being turned down (or up) as I move the slider. However, this changes the balance (since not all speakers
are changes simultaneously) but now the overall volume. This clearly happens because the master mixer in windows 10 does not apply the settings to all speaker channels.

The only think I do not get... why? Why does the master mixer not change all speakers simultaneously but only some...

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

As you are facing issues with accessing volume mixer on Windows 10, this issue might have occurred due to corrupted or outdated drivers, try the below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run Hardware troubleshooter as it will help in resolving the issues with hardware and resolve any simple issues found.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device
  options from the list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
  Troubleshooter.

Method 2: Uninstall and Update the driver.

I suggest you to uninstall the existing driver and update it.

Steps:

• Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select
  Device Manager.
• Expand Audio inputs and outputs, right click on
  High Definition Audio Device and click on Uninstall.
• Restart and Windows will re-install the
  IDT High Definition Audio driver.
• If it works fine otherwise try to search for the drivers with the help of model number of your computer from the Manufacturer’s website and install them.
