Realtek Audio misidentifies back panel audio jacks.

I have a b550 Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard from AsRock. The back panel I/O is specifically stated to include "Line In/ Front Speaker/Microphone". However, Realtek Audio Console thinks that the Back Panel is rear speaker/front speaker/ subwoofer. As a result, I am unable to use my microphone with the rear microphone jack. I have tried going into the registry and reassigning values and even adding entirely new ones. This did not work. I have reinstalled my drivers as well. my current driver version is 6.0.8931.1.

Also of note: my front panel audio jacks don't detect my microphone but Realtek detects when something is plugged in to the rear jacks, just doesn't recognize that its a mic.

    :)

Windows 10 Realtek Audio rear analog jacks not working

I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, and found I wasn't getting any audio from my speakers. My Realktek HD Audio manager can detect my analog speakers hook-up in the rear panel. I can hear audio from my front panel analog jacks with my regular
speakers. I tried updating the audio drivers to 6.0.1.7541 from the Realtek site but still could not hear anything from my rear panel analog jacks (the front still work). Changing the frequency also did not work. (edit 8/2/2015) I went into sounds and checked
properties for speakers/headphones, the default device. (edit 8/7/2015) It lists the front panel l/r jack and the rear panel l/r jack, along withthe other surround sound jacks (l/r rear, center sub, l/r side).

Audio Jack not being able to work on Windows 10 (1703)

    Hi,

This can be due to software conflicts. To help you resolve the issue, change the settings in Realtek HD Audio Manager. Follow the steps below:

    • Open Realtek HD Audio Manager.
    • On the upper right corner, click the small folder icon.
    • Beside the Disable front panel jack detection, tick the box next to it.
    • Click OK.

Once done, try if the headphones will now work and produce sounds.

Give us an update with the result so we can provide further assistance.
