  1. Rare ping spikes on otherwise perfectly stable Wi-Fi 1 PC only

I have rare ping spikes on a fast & otherwise stable Wi-Fi. I have attached a screenshot of how it looks when I ping my router in cmd.I started having this problem immediately after buying a new PC. Have also unsuccessfully replaced a wireless card M.2 Realtek 8852CE to ASUS PCE-AXE59BT. My router is Archer C80. I notice these ping spikes during gaming. It happens at seemingly random intervals but not too often. Tried connecting the PC to the router via an Ethernet cable - no spikes. No spikes on my laptop either in a more remote location from the router.Fixes I've tried, unsuccessfully:

Ping spiking on Wi-Fi connection network

I am writing to seek assistance with a persistent issue I have been experiencing regarding my internet connectivity. Despite being connected to a Wi-Fi network in close proximity to the router, I am encountering significant latency problems that are adversely affecting my online activities.

To provide you with more details, I have noticed that the ping latency fluctuates from an acceptable 25 milliseconds to an alarming range of approximately 160-190 milliseconds(ping google.com). These latency spikes have a detrimental impact on my online gaming experience, causing frequent freezes and disruptions. In day-to-day tasks such as video streaming, the impact of this high latency is not noticeable.

I have taken several troubleshooting steps to address the issue on my own. Firstly, I have ensured that my device's Wi-Fi drivers are up to date. Additionally, I have attempted to move closer to the router to eliminate any potential signal strength issues. However, these attempts have not yielded the desired results, and the problem persists.

Given the severity of the latency spikes, I kindly request your expertise and guidance in resolving this matter. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, recommendations, or steps you can provide to help me restore a stable and reliable internet connection. Please let me know if there are any specific diagnostic tests or information I can provide to assist in identifying the root cause of this problem.

Thank you in advance for your attention and support. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this issue.

    Here is my laptop characteristics:
    Laptop Gaming HP OMEN 16-c0xxx procesor AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800H, 16.1", Full HD, 144Hz, 16GB, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 8GB, Free DOS, Black

  3. Wi-Fi ping spikes on one PC only

    Title.

I had NO connection issues on my old PC that ran a TP-Link Archer T4E. But I've recently bought a new PC that has a B650M AX... and started having occasional ping spikes. It looks like this when I ping my router - Archer C80 - in cmd (for some reason, I can't insert a screenshot here): 99% of the time, the latency is <=1ms, but occasionaly 2-3 rows show 3 digit latencies. This results in short, yet major lags in online games.

I really want to make sure these spikes are not related to my router or specific network settings before contacting warranty service.

    Things I want to mention:

    1. I can't really use an Ethernet cable without some renovation.

    2. My router is relatively close. As I said, I didn't have problems with a different Wi-Fi card on my old PC just a week ago.

    3. This happens on one PC only (my partner's laptop has perfect connection in a place more remote from the router)

    4. With new PC, I switched to Windows 11. Not sure if this could be relevant though.

    5. Yes, I use 5GHz network with all the recommended settings I could find on the Internet. No, it's not congested. Yes, all the drivers are up-to-date.

    6. Tried: 1) Changing, flushing DNS; 2) uninstalling the Wi-Fi card in device manager; 3) disabling WLANautoconfig in cmd; 3) switching to metered connection; 4) closing various update services and background apps; 5) disconnecting all other devices from the network; 6) limiting bandwidth; 7) reseting network settings and router; 8) some other stuff that I can't really remember. Nothing seems to work.

So my questions are: how do I properly troubleshoot this issue and is there a reliable way to identify the culprit (the router, the faulty Wi-Fi card, some sort of conflict between them, network settings)? Would upgrading to Wi-Fi 6 help? Which important settings could I've missed?

I would go to the warranty service right away, but I don't wanna be wasting time unless I'm 100% sure it's the Wi-Fi card.

Rare ping spikes on otherwise perfectly stable Wi-Fi 1 PC only

Keep getting ping spikes while using Wi-Fi.

Hi. Recently (since about a week), i have been getting regular ping spikes while playing the MOBA game ''League of legends''. Everyone 5-10 seconds or so my ms goes from a stable 30 to about 150. This issue does not only occur while playing League of Legends but also when playing other games. The spikes seem to always occur in important situations throughout the game.

I have done multiple Wi-Fi tests which have been extremely unstable as sometimes the test just doesn't work or some other times i get a result as high as 70mb/s for download and 50mb/s of upload. I have updated all of my drivers and have done multiple malware scans. I have also checked task manager while in a game to see if anything was using up Wi-Fi but nothing pops up.

I don't think the problem has to do with my router or internet provider since my my Wi-Fi works fine on every other system that is using it (Ipad, phone, other computers, consoles, etc...). I am not using Ethernet by the way, I am using a wireless adapter. The Wi-Fi worked alright before and I have no idea what caused it to suddenly stop working.

    Please help *Sad.
