Windows 10: Question about WebP codecs

Hi!I wanted to restore the use of the original Microsoft application: `Windows Photo Viewer` for pictures.I was able to successfully restore the program, but I noticed a problem with *.webp files.The problem occurs only in the Windows Photo Viewer application – *.webp files open correctly in MSPaint.Do any of you have an idea how to solve this?Example problematic .webp picture:

Windows 10, Outlook 2016 and quick preview for .webp files

I do not known what happen recently but I guess it is related to a windows update.

I was able to quick preview .webp file attachment in outlook 2016, but all of sudden, it is not working anymore.

My file association are now associate with Google Chrome.

I was expecting to see Microsoft Photo in the list of available application to open the .webp files but it not listed.

Any suggestion?

 

Can't see thumbnails for "webp" images

How do I get webp files to display as thumbnails in a Windows 10 folder? I already tried installing the webp codec for Windows, and it didn't fix the issue.

 

WebP Photos Properties Editing in Windows 10 Gives Error.

We performed tests on different files, including webp files provided by some websites, webp files converted from jfif files of original editable comments, and webp files provided by you.



With the webp codec extension installed, in Windows 11 as well as Windows 10, when we use the built-in File Explorer to view the "Details" tab in the webp file's "Properties", we are unable to edit the " Comments".



We would like to confirm with you that you are trying to edit the properties through File Explorer? Or are you using another tool to try to modify the properties?
