Hi, thanks for the info, I am currently using windows 10.

I will try that System Managed option to see how it goes, I currently have a 512 GB intel SSD + 32GB intel optane memory and 12GB SDRAM (1x4 + 1x8)

I found a few options online after searching for Application hang 1002 and ran this function with command prompt

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

followed by

sfc /scannow

and it found a corrupted file which was successfully repaired

I have also tried turning off network discovery, as recommended in a different post for this hang error

Here's the Technical details for the Microsoft Management Console in the Security and Maintenence control panel.

When I click "Check for a solution", I get the following message...

So I started the Windows Error Reporting Service in services.msc then checked for a solution again only to receive the same message.

In all my searching online for a solution, I read somewhere that hyperthreading being enabled is one of the causes for application hangs.

Please help me.

It seems like I'm finding all kinds of info that seems to be dead ends.

I don't know about a game called Zwift, but I did find a bicycle training app with that name.

[EDIT: Looking closer I guess it could be classified as a game in the simulator category, but you may want to

contact their support or forums to find if there are issues peculiar to their program that may cause this error. ]

I'm also thinking that the fix that worked for 'pommy lad' may actually be the second option.

- I see that Internet Explorer and the mshtml.dll (HTML) are in the OP's third post, and the ipconfig fix

posted by pommy lad is a fix for the internet setup.

- Unfortunately Application hang 1002 is just one of may generic Windows errors, and I can only do what you can do...

Do an www search for Application hang 1002 and trawl the numerous links until you find something that works for

your particular situation.

- Regarding the Page File (Virtual Memory) fix... How much system RAM does your machine have ?

I doubt changing the Page File settings would have fixed the issue in that post from 2012, unless pommy lad's

machine had a limited amount of system RAM.

Regardless, the best option with Win10 is to use the System Managed option as this is dynamic and will create more space on your

SSD\HDD when required. 12GB currently allocated on your system would be a big Page File.

This could happen when using the Windows Managed setting if you are a very heavy multi-tasker with limited system RAM,

in which case upgrading to more RAM may be a good idea. Particularly if your Page File is on an HDD vs SSD.

My machine has 16GB RAM, and the recommended is only at 2.9GB with 2.4GB currently allocated. While I don't multi-task I do run

very system intensive games without any memory issues.

With XP and to some degree Win7, nominating 1.5 times the amount of system RAM your machine is using for both min and max

was often suggested as this kept the Page File in one block, and while not so helpful on an SSD, this can benefit the data access speed

when the Page File is on an HDD.
