Windows 10: Problem with Intel Wifi Network Adapter and Driver

Code 31 error being shown for the Intel R Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Wifi Network Adapter. I have also downloaded the latest drivers for it but the system is still not able to detect them in the computer and install the latest drivers. So currently, I am using ethernet cable to access internet on my computer. What are the possible solutions? Please respond as soon as possible as I have tried many fixes but still the problem is not getting solved.

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter as below and check if it helps.

• Type in search bar as control panel.
• Then select troubleshooting.
• Click on hardware and sound option.
• Then click on “hardware and devices “and follow the on screen instructions.

Method 2: I suggest you to uninstall the network drivers as below steps.

• Press Windows+X and select “Device manager”.
• Then expand the Network adapters.
• Right click on the driver and uninstall it.

And then go to the manufacturers website download the network drivers, install it and check if the issue persists.

Safe Mode with Networking - No network - No WiFi adapter...

I can see that now. It says it's an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265.

I have two machines with an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC card. One is an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, the other an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260. Both machines are still on 1909 (18363.900).

The 8260 shows the same Code 37 error for the WiFi in Safe Mode as yours does. Upgrading it to 2004 made no difference.






The 7260 works in Safe Mode in 1909.





So the problem seems to be specific to newer Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC WiFi cards, or possibly to changes Intel have introduced in their newer drivers. Your screenshot doesn't show the version and date of your driver. It's just possible that an older driver may work.

The latest driver for the Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 shown above dates back to 2015, while the 8260's driver is from 2019.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Right click on Windows icon on the taskbar.
• Select Control panel.
• Click on network and sharing center.
• At the left top corner click on Change adapter settings.
• There you will be able to see the Driver name of the network Adapter next to the Icon.
  
• Then you can go to device manager and check for that network adapter and you can uninstall the driver.
