Windows 10: Problem with ASUS PCE AC88 AC3100 Dual-Band Wi-Fi PCIe Adapter

Three years ago, I built a gaming pc for my daughter with the following main specs. Motherboard: ROG STRIX AMD Ryzen X470-F GAMING AM4 ATX CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Gen2 8 Core AM4 Memory: Vengeance RGB PRO Black 16GB 3200 MHz DDR4 PSU: HX850i 850W Full Modular GPU: RX 590 Red Devil 8GB GDDR5 M.2 SSD: 500GB 960 EVO PCI Express 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive HDD: 1TB 3.5" SATA 3 Hard Disk Drive/HDD Optical drive: x24 DVD/CD Re-Writer with M-DISC Support Wireless card: PCE-AC88 AC3100 Dual-Band Wi-Fi PCIe Adapter OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit All has worked fine until this week when the PCE-AC88 lost the Wi-Fi signal from the BT Hub which is located no more than 30 feet away. All other devices can connect to the internet so, there are no issues with the BT Hub. There are also no issues when connecting the pc to the BT Hub with Ethernet cable. The issue seems to be with the PCE-AC88 Broadcom driver Version 2.8.0.7 2018/04/13 60.22 Mbytes 1.558.48.8 which is the only driver available from Asus support. Having Googled searched the issue affects hundreds of people with the same problem but no one seems to have solved the issue. Some reporting that the internet connects and disconnects randomly or it does not connect at all which is my issue. Has anyone here has had the same issue and solved it? Found another Broadcom driver that has worked with ASUS PCE AC88? I would be incredibly grateful for their solution.

ASUS announced its flagship PCI-Express wireless networking adapter, the PCE-AC88. The card is the first in the market to offer dual-band 4x4 AC3100 Wi-Fi, with speeds of up to 2.1 Gbps at 5 GHz, and 1 Gbps at 2.4 GHz. It takes advantage of 4x4 NitroQAM (1024-QAM) to offer such speeds. A 3x3 adapter would serve 1.3 Gbps. The PCE-AC88 includes a set of four antennae that you can directly attach to the card (ideal for to use the card as a WLAN client), as well as an external, router-looking module for the antennae, letting you use your card (your machine) as a WLAN router, using the included software. The card features a PCI-Express 2.0 x1 bus interface. The company didn't reveal pricing or availability.

No mention of price tho. Im guessing it's ~100$/100€+ considering AC68 was ~70€

 

Asus PCE-AC56 PCIE Wi-Fi Card not Working

Hello everybody,

I have been looking around for help on this but there hasn't been much in the way to fix the issue. It seems to be an issue with the Fall Creators Update. The issue is that the device cannot start:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I am currently using an AMD FX-8350, 970 Pro Gaming/Aura Motherboard, 32 gigs of Corsair RAM running at 1600 MHz, Gigabyte GTX 1060, and the Asus PCE-AC56 PCIE Wi-Fi Card.

After looking into Event Viewer it states this:

Device PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43B1&SUBSYS_85BA1043&REV_03\4&e21b4e0&0&0050 requires further installation.

Then this:

Then this:

I have tried uninstalling the Asus PCE-AC56 PCIE Wi-Fi Card drivers and reinstalling, updating them manually to the latest drivers (Windows Update doesn't seem to find the latest drivers), and uninstalling and letting Windows do it's thing by updating itself.
