Windows 10: Printer is Offline, although I can ping it - Possible solution

Dear Community Members,I tried to find a solution to the problem of network LAN printer being offline in printers list, while it can be pinged via command prompt in this community forum, but I could not find an answer,. Restarting printer or computer does not help either. Printer shows offline even if print spooler service is restarted or printer driver is reinstalled. Then we found an solution to our problem and I wanted to share it with you. Yet, all the question threads about the problem that I looked at were locked so I decided to share the possible solution via producing another thread

Hey guys,

I'm having a slight issue with one of my printers in that it's showing offline and I can't print to it.

It's a Datamax label printer which is connected to my network via a Netgear print server, this has then be added to one of my servers for sharing etc.

So far I've tried the below.

- Classic on/off.
- Removing from server and re-adding.
- Ensuring that under port configuration SNMP Status is disabled.
- Assigning to different IP.
- Restarting Print Spooler.

I can ping it fine and the printer itself is letting me do manual test prints using its interface, but no matter what I cannot get it to stop showing up as offline and allowing me to print to it over the network. I should add that it's worked fine for the past year.

Any suggestions?

I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps:

• Go to the 'Start' menu
• Select 'Devices and Printers'
• Double Click on your printer
• Click on 'Printer' at the top left
• Go down and uncheck 'use printer offline'
• PRINT

printer is offline.

When ever I try to print something I get cant print the printer is offline. I realize I cant use printer offline. Suggest a simple solution.
