Windows 10: Print to PDF incorrectly sets paper size to Letter 8.5x11"

I have a Word document that is correctly set to 6x9" page size, but when I convert to PDF with Microsoft Print to PDF, the metadata says 6x9, but somehow it also says 8.5x11. I've checked the Print to PDF settings, and the problem seems to be that the only paper it understands is Letter that is, 8.5x11".I'd like the 6x9 setting in Word take priority so that the resulting PDF is correctly identified.

How to change Microsoft PDF printer default paper size from Letter to A4?

Hi, my problem is Microsoft Print to PDF is printing a Letter-sized doc as A4. In the Microsoft Print to PDF Properties dialogue box under 'Features', the only paper size listed under 'Paper available' is A4. But if I click on 'Preferences' and then 'Advanced'
there's a list of paper sizes available that shows 'Letter' has been selected. So it seems the problem is the Paper/Output option I've selected as 'Letter' is not changing the A4 'Paper available' feature in the Microsoft Print to PDF Properties. Does anyone
know how I can change that or add a 'Letter' option to the Properties dialogue box? It's really important I get this fixed. Thanks in advance if anyone does know.

 

Microsoft Print to PDF - custom paper sizes possible?

Hi,

We suggest that you try to set the paper size of the exact document first. You can create a custom page size before you proceed with
Microsoft Print to PDF, it should auto-detect the paper size of the document.

To set the paper size in Microsoft Office:

• Click on the Page Layout/Page Design tab.
• Click on Size, and then in the options available, click on
  More Paper Sizes...
• Click on the drop-down arrow and scroll down to the last option which is
  Custom size. You will be able to customize your preferred paper size.
• Once done, click on OK, and then proceed with Microsoft Print to PDF.

Printer's default paper size ignored

I often print to PDFs. My PDF printers are set to a default paper size of Legal. But when I print the size is Letter and I have to change it each time. This used to work. I'm not sure when it changed.

• Windows Setting Manage Default Printer is not checked
• Doesn't matter which printer I use - PDFCreator, Bullzip PDF, Adobe PDF
• Windows 10 build 1803
• Happens when printing from many apps - Microsoft Office, LibreOffice, Email
• Works properly when printing from other apps - Notepad, Notepad++, browsers
• Happens on multiple computers - desktop and laptop

Any tips on how to get the printer default paper size to work?
