Windows 10: Print Offline but can be pinged

HP printer set up as wireless. Local address is 192.168.0.244. Windows 10.Suddenly I could not print from my HP . Windows shows that it is offline but I am able to ping it successfully. Power off and ON printer. Plug and unplug printer. Reboot PC. None of that helped.1. Open Control Panel2. Go to Devices and Printers3.Found the printer that is offline .4. Right click the printer icon and select Printer Properties5. In Printer Properties window, go to Ports tab6. Select the checked ticked port in the list, and click Configure Port7. Networked Printer showing "Offline"

Hey guys,

I'm having a slight issue with one of my printers in that it's showing offline and I can't print to it.

It's a Datamax label printer which is connected to my network via a Netgear print server, this has then be added to one of my servers for sharing etc.

So far I've tried the below.

- Classic on/off.
- Removing from server and re-adding.
- Ensuring that under port configuration SNMP Status is disabled.
- Assigning to different IP.
- Restarting Print Spooler.

I can ping it fine and the printer itself is letting me do manual test prints using its interface, but no matter what I cannot get it to stop showing up as offline and allowing me to print to it over the network. I should add that it's worked fine for the past year.

Any suggestions?

Step 1: I suggest you download and run the
HP Print and Scan Doctor and check if it resolves the issue.



Step 2: I suggest you refer to the article
Troubleshooting offline printer problems
and perform the troubleshooting steps mentioned and see if that helps.

If your printer is slow to print, I suggest you refer and follow the suggestions from

Printer is Offline, although I can ping it - Possible solution

Dear Community Members,

I tried to find a solution to the problem of network (LAN) printer being offline in printers list, while it can be pinged via command prompt in this community forum, but I could not find an answer,. Restarting printer or computer does not help either. Printer shows offline even if print spooler service is restarted or printer driver is reinstalled.

Then we found an solution to our problem and I wanted to share it with you. Yet, all the question threads about the problem that I looked at were locked so I decided to share the possible solution via producing another thread. Sorry if I did something wrong and I really hope it helps everybody having the same problem.

Alright, steps of solution for offline printer problem, is as follows:

1. Open Control Panel

2. Go to Devices and Printers

3. Among the printers shown, find the one that is offline or going offline

4. Right click the printer icon and select Printer Properties

5. In Printer Properties window, go to Ports tab

6. Select the checked (ticked) port in the list, and click Configure Port

7. In Configure Port window, uncheck "SNMP Status Enabled"

8. Click OK and try again

At least it solved our problem, and I humbly wanted to share. Hope it helps.
