Windows 10: Possible to wake PC from sleep remotely without WoL?

Discus and support Possible to wake PC from sleep remotely without WoL? in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; My router does not support Wake on LAN.     Possible to wake PC from sleep remotely without WoL?


    My router does not support Wake on LAN. I would like to be able to leave my computer in sleep mode and be able to wake it up from my laptop remotely over the internet to stream games on Parsec I can put it into sleep mode from there. I can't find anything online that doesn't use WoL, so it's probably not possible.

    Laptop updated to 1809. Can't get WOL to send out...

    Not sure the topic is exactly accurate. Here's the story:

    • Have been successful sending WOL to 2 other PCs in the house
    • Had problems with laptop and sent to HP. They upgraded it to 1809
    • Now when I send WOL packets the other PCs will not wake up

    Given that it was working fine on those PCs before, and the noted changes are to the PC sending the packet, I'm assuming that my sending PC needs something configured.

    My searches on WOL only find stuff about setting it up on the remote PC so it will wake up.

    Any suggestions about why my sending PC is not sending?

    Remote Desktop app for Mac with Wake on LAN Support

    I currently use Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac to remote control my Windows 10 Home PC from my iMac(Mojave OS). The only issue is that the Windows PC goes to sleep to save power, and I cannot easily wake it. I can log into one of my appliances like Synology NAS or Raspberry pi , which both have Wake on Lan(WoL) utilities , and wake up the PC.

    I am wondering if there are any remote control applications that have WoL built in. That way the application can send a WoL packet and wait for the Windows PC to become remotely accessible before opening a remote desktop/control session.

    Win10 Pro Remote Desktop WoL Login

    I'm buying a full version of Windows 10 and am not sure if Pro will solve my issue with remote desktoping. In short, I need to be able to turn my computer on and login when I need to. I have no problem using WoL, but I can't login. Some services like Teamviewer
    will load using the app, when coming out of sleep, but if the pc was off that doesn't help. Will remote desktop login after WoL. I'd rather not waste $100 on a feature that doesn't exist.
