  1. Possible Fix: A Win11 Update apparently breaks USB 3.2 drivers

I had a failure of the 3.2 xHCI ports apparent;ly after a late 2024 Windows Update. One thing NONE of your suggestions for a fix mentions is the following:Turn off the desktop PC, switch it off, and physically remove the power cord over night. Removing the battery is unnecessary. When you restart it, whatever values were held by residual power are gone. When you restart the PC, the xHCI 3.2 drivers now work. Why? I have no idea. This may not work for everyone, but none of the forum suggestions I have seen so far did not work for me either.-Joseph

    Hi,

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your device. Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

    • Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
Method 2: I suggest you to update the USB Drivers.

Try updating the latest USB devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the USB drivers:

    a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

    b. Expand the USB driver.

    c. Right-click on the USB and click on Update driver software.

    d. Restart the computer and check.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.

USB Drivers not Recognized after Windows 10 Installation

    Hi Paul,

    Thank you for replying.

Sorry to know that you still face the issue.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and verify the result.

    Method 1: Update USB Controllers.

To update the USB Controllers from Device Manager follow these steps.

    1. Go to Device manager in control panel.

    2. Select Device manager and a Device Manager window will pop-up.

    3. Double Click on USB Controllers to expand.

    4. Right click on the USB Controllers that is listed and select Update.

Method 2: Uninstall and Reinstall the USB driver.

If it doesn’t work I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the USB driver and see if it helps:

    1. Right Click on Start, Select Device Manager.

    2. Find and double-click the category of device whose driver you wish to uninstall (for example, the graphics card would be listed under Display Adapters) here its USB.

    3. Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.

    4. Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OK to remove the driver.

    5. After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible

    Method 3:

I also suggest you to update the Mother Board chipset drivers from the OEM website to check if that helps.

Review Windows Update. The Windows Update service is a key item to review. Windows Update may have updated drivers available that may be relevant to your current issue. Many times, updated drivers are listed in the "Optional" section of Windows Update.
Install any pending updates on the pc to check if that helps.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.
