Please allow the taskbar in Windows 11 to dock on the left side of screen instead of the bottom as you could in previous versions of Windows. The autohide feature for the taskbar is not reliable and the taskbar on the bottom loses too much real estate. After two years I'm still frustrated and still on the verge of uninstalling and reinstalling with an old windows 10 set of discs.

Windows 11 has a serious flaw from a user perspective. The horizontally (bottom) docked taskbar is awful. For over a decade I have had my taskbar docked on the left side of my screen (vertical) as it is more efficient for managing my open windows. I understand this could be accomplished with a registry change on an earlier release of Windows 11. Now it is completely broken and can only be accomplished by downloading dubious 3rd party apps. When will you fix this so that Windows allows this personalization again?

Hi, at work we use three screens, with XP installed, on the PC i was using before it had the taskbar on just the left screen and when i maximised a window it would fill whatever screen the window was currently on. The pc i now use, has a task bar stretched across the three screens and when i maximise something it will automatically fill the left screen. Is there a way to change either of these things as i prefer the taskbar on the left screen and to maximise on the screen the window is in. Thanks

Windows: Realign the Start button back to the left

With Windows 11, the Start button is centered in the taskbar, which may throw you off if you’ve been using Windows for years. Moving it back to the left is easy:

• Press the Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
  
• Choose Personalization and Taskbar.
  
• Select Taskbar behaviors, then click Left under Taskbar alignment.
