    Physical Port Security


    I understand the importance of USB-A port security in cybersecurity.But does this also apply to:USB-B?USB-C?SD Cards?What other external vulnerabilities do PCs with sensitive information face?I'm preparing a financial institution for their Cybersecurity Risk Assessment in December and have only found "secure ports" in the FFIEC requirements.Thanks in advance for your help!

    Any way to "map" USB physical ports to a Device Manager list?

    Is there a utility or else a utility plus some savvy that allows someone to map all the physical ports USB ports to the device manager listing like this one

    USB Port Oddities


    Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:

    Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :

    The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :

    Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:

    Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

    That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

    SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.
