  1. Photos staying as Background Progress

Recently, the Photos app doesn't seem to fully close. When I close the app after looking at a photo, it goes from "Apps" to "Background Processes" The main issue is it appears to stack for each photo I look at. For example I've seen "Photos 96" for example. The only process listed is "Photos" listed over and over when I expand the name. The app itself isn't open, not minimized or anything. Should this be happening? I'm not sure if its connected to the issue that caused me to notice this: Explorer acting strangely. Things not appearing correctly but program - Microsoft Community

  2. Photos app hogging resources in background

Ian, this suggestion was posted on my other thread:

We understand that not all of users are using the Photos app on Windows 10, if not very often. If you don't want this app to be running on background when not in use, there is a way you can turn this
off. Kindly follow the steps provided below:

    • In Cortana, type Privacy Settings
      and press Enter.
    • Look for Background apps.
    • Look for Photos in the list.
    • Flip the switch to Off.
    • Restart your computer.

After you restart your computer, you can check if the Photos app is still running in background. You can use these steps to turn off any running background applications as it is not limited to Photos
app alone. In this way, you can conserve a lot of power and process allowance.

I just followed these instructions, and now have to wait to see if it works. I'm hoping it solves your problem, too!

  4. Photos staying as Background Progress

    background picture will not stay

So you do not have the background set for slideshow correct ??

    >>IS IT ONLY THIS ONE PHOTO THAT DOES THIS <<

Have you relocated the photo and tried using it ???

Have you opened it in Microsoft Paint and change the resolution and/or file type of the photo. ??/

I would do these steps before replying again.
