Windows 10: Photos legacy App spins on W11

Hi,I've moved to W11 ; everything seems fine except for the Photos Legacy app. When I connect my android phone, it starts counting the number of photos and then gets stuck ...I've un-install re-install without any significant result ...Any idea would be welcomeRgdsFG

microsoft photos legacy app doesn't work

My Photo Legacy App gets to about 2,500 photos found (out of 11,000) and just spins endlessly. Can you help?

 

Photo App live tile no longer working

What seems to happen is that the Photos Legacy live tile (AKA the original Photo app tile) also gets replaced with the new (blechhh) Photos app, possibly each time the app updates.

I don't know how long this will work but if you go to the Start screen, unpin that tile then go to the All Apps list, find Photos Legacy, pin that to Start and the Tile comes back to life.

You might need to go into the Setting for Photos Legacy and play with the Appearance setting to get it rolling if it doesn't remember your previous settings.

over Msft removing more than a few pinned websites during one the last updates. Against my preference but as an experiment, I purchased a new laptop with W11 installed. All it has done is solidified my dislike and disinterest in W11.

A nutshell description is that W10 is convenient to use. W11 is inconvenient at best.

Regarding to your information I assume that you want to use the Photos Legacy but it will still use the new version.

Are you referring to opening Photo (Legacy) or the new version of Photos? If possible, you can try uninstalling Photos and

then see if you are able to open Photo (Legacy). Our tests have shown that it should work fine. If you don't use the new version of

Photos, you can try this approach.

You can go to Settings -> Apps -> Installed apps, search for Photos, and you should see both Photos and Photos (Legacy).

Delete Photos and see if it resolves the issue.

If you want to use it please create a new test account, and switch to the newly created account to see if the Photos app is working as normal.

This troubleshooting step can help isolate the problem due to an invalid profile configuration.
