Windows 10: PCs microphone problem

Hello, can I ask why my pcs microphone isn't recording any sound? but the sound gauge is showing that it picked up sound but when you record a voice message in messenger the receiver will not hear any sound, and in all apps, it's not working. Another thing, also the external mic is no use because it really does not record any sound even if the earphone's mic is working on another device. I also tried to uninstall and install the audio driversTried to update the audio driversDo all the possible ways that I found on the internet but nothing seems to work! The issue could be because of the microphone being in a disabled state. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works:

• Open Control Panel and categorize to view by
  Small Icons.
  
• Click on Speech Recognition and navigate to
  Advanced Speech Options > Microphone > Advanced
  
• Check Real Conexant HD Audio, save the changes and exit
  Control Panel.
  
• Restart the machine to see if the microphone works.

We'd like to verify a few things in order for us to assist you effectively. Kindly confirm the following:

Were there any recent changes made to your computer prior to the issue? (Windows update, software or hardware installation, etc.)

• Do you get an error when you're trying to use your microphone?
• What is the make and model of your microphone?
• How did you install your microphone to your Windows 10 PC? Kindly verify if the steps below are the same as the steps you have performed:

To install a new microphone, follow these steps:

• 
  Right-click (or press and hold) the volume icon on the taskbar and select
  Recording Devices.
  
• 
  In the Recording tab, select the microphone or recording device you'd like to set up. Select
  Configure.
  
• 
  Select Set up microphone, and follow the steps of the
  Microphone Setup Wizard.
  

To test a microphone that has already been installed:

• 
  Right-click (or press and hold) the volume icon on the taskbar and select
  Recording Devices.
  
• 
  In the Recording tab, look for green bars rising as you speak into your recording device. If the bars are moving, your device is connected and working properly.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• When you say that “the box is grey and unresponsive”, where you are seeing this option?
  
• Are you able to connect the microphone to the PC? (Does it show in Device Manager)

Meanwhile we would suggest you to perform these steps and check if you are able to setup the microphone.

Steps to set up a microphone: Before you set up Speech Recognition, make sure you've plugged the microphone into your PC so the following steps work.

1. Press Windows + Q or click on the Windows Search.
   
2. Enter Set up a microphone in the search box, and then tap or click
   Set up a microphone.
   
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
   
4. Once you are able to setup the microphone and then check if it’s working.
