Windows 10: PC freezing and rebooting right after a game has been closed

I'm facing an issue with my PC. A few seconds after I close a game, it freezes completely even the mouse cursor and needs to be rebooted. Sometimes it reboots automatically, other times it needs to be manually rebooted by holding the power button, and other times it may need to be completely shut off by pressing the on/off button of the power supply.The last time it happened, the Event Viewer said:Event 1001, BugCheckThe computer has rebooted from a bugcheck: 0x00000116 0xffffa285c7f48010, 0xfffff80156310790, 0xffffffffc000009a, 0x0000000000000004. • When you say that "Game freezes or comp reboots in", is the freezing issue occurring while playing game or in other situations also?
• Is the issue particular to a game or with all the games?
• Are you getting any error message?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to run System File Checker on the computer and also try to reinstall the game in compatibility mode.



Step 1: I suggest you to perform a System File Checker of the Computer and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

1. Right click on Start Menu.

2. Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

3. Then type ”sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit on
Enter Key.

Step 2: I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the game in compatibility mode. Check if it helps.

1. Right-click on the game setup file and click on ‘Properties’'.

2. Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7, 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the
computer and check if the issue persists.

Thank you, I fixed prob by clean install of older nvidia drivers. Have marked your 'Step 1' down for future ref

 

PC Hard freezing when closing games

Specs:

Ryzen 5 5600x

RTX 3060 Ti
2x8GB DDR4 3200MHZ

A520MT Biostar

since approximatively 1 week, my pc has been having this issue where everytime i close a game after a 5min+ gaming session the pc would either hard freeze (causing me to reboot it from the case buttons) or the screen turns black while saying that there is no signal on displayport and the pc reboots itself alone after 1/2 minutes. I can literally stay on windows for hours, game on the highest settings for hours yet the second i close that game the pc fails.

I tried 3 different NVIDIA drivers, nothing changed.
tried some memory diagnostic tools, no errors.
