    Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580S-S2 not recognized after upgrade from Windows 8.1

    If you have an AMD chipset on your machine then this thread will help you fix it. Just read the thread and follow the steps.

    Sony Optiarc AD-7580 compatible or not that seems to be the question.

    Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580S-S2 not recognized after upgrade from Windows 8.1

    I'm having (over a month now) axact the same problem with an Acer Aspire 7551 (P322G25MN) laptop. Only, the CD DVD is NOT an Optiarc
    AD-7585H by Sony but a HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30N by Hitachi-LG.

    Win 10 doesn't recognize the CD DVD drive; it is listed in 'Other Devices' (Device Manager) (as HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30 and not as HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30N ATA DEVICE in Win 7) ; I can not manually install the driver (nor update it); I tried everything mentioned before
    and in orther threads (regedit atapi Controller0, UpperFilters - LowerFilters, FIXIT, troubleshooter, ...).

    Anyone?
