Windows 10: open Outlook as last viewed

I like to have my Outlook open in the same position and at the same size as when I last had it open. In Windows 10 this happened automatically, but now that I have updated to Windows 11 it is off by a bit. I move and resize every time, but it never takes the new size and position as default. How can I make this work like it did in Windows 10?By the way I also have Chrome open in the same position and the same size every day, and that works just fine. So this seems to be only affecting Outlook, possibly other Office apps, but I open those in maximized mode only.

Hi Marilou,

• What are you using is it mail app or Outlook app?

When I bought my dell it is already embedded the outlook view on my laptop no idea if it is mail app or outlook app

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Don't know hot to proceed browsing the internet how to troubleshoot but does not help either so frustrating.

Can't open Outlook links in Edge

• Dose this problem occur on a particular website or all the links you try to open from Outlook?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done?

In the meantime, we suggest that you reset Microsoft Edge. Kindly refer to the steps below:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Click on More options […].
• Click on Settings.
• Click on ‘Choose what to clear’.
• Select all of them and click on Clear all.

Opening a .MSG file created by Outlook 365

Because the apps I had tried and the one I had installed, appeared on the list of possible Apps in the list for opening MSG files, I thought that repairing Outlook might work. So I tried the repair option as Sheltieuk had suggested. When I then tried Start – Defaults afterwards and looked to see what was available to open MSG files, Outlook had appeared on the list! Selected that and it worked.

For once I have posed not only a question but an answer!!
