Windows 10: Only Option in Network Connections Is Ethernet.

I recently got a optiplex 3020 with windows 10 on it, and, even after a factory reset, the thing will not connect to the internet. The only option is ethernet. If you troubleshoot, It comes up with "Ethernet cable is not plugged in"How do I fix this? FYI, I followed these steps before and nothing changed.

Well Ethernet isn't an option atm, and powerline networking depends on the wires you already have in the house (which will be very old) have any suggestions on top notch wireless network adapters?

 

Ethernet connection issue with error msg " unidentified network "

I will certainly help you with the issue you are experiencing in connecting with Ethernet.

This issue might occur, if the network adapter driver is corrupt.

Please follow below mentioned steps to fix the issue:

Step 1: Troubleshooting Network adapter.

  Press Windows Key + X from your keyboard and select
  Control Panel option.
  
• 
  Change to Large under
  View all option, you will see at right top corner of the window.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting, Go to
  View all option (you will see at left pane), select Network adapter from the list and click on
  troubleshoot.
  

Step 2:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Command prompt (Run as admin).
  
• 
  Enter the below command and press Enter.
  
  ipconfig /renew
  
• 
  Now restart your PC and check the
  Ethernet settings.

Ethernet isn’t an option for network

Hi, I just got a new drive and realize that my Ethernet no longer works. I tried many of the methods for others experiencing similar issue but it didn’t resolve. The Ethernet controller is listed under other devices and cannot be updated. Ethernet is not an option in network and connections and when I run troubleshoot, it tells me the system does not detect a properly installed network adapter/I need to install the driver. Please send help, thank you.
