Windows 10: On startup Bitlocker is asking me a key in order to proceed after repairing my laptop, how...

hello, I have a Lenovo yoga c740 lately I faced a hardware issue. I send it to the repair center, they fix the problem by changing an IC, after then, BitLocker on startup is asking me a key in order to proceed, noting that I didn't encrypt my disk before repairing it, and I don't have a Microsoft account on it. please advise.

The troubleshooting links don't help. I just keep going around in circles. It says to do the following:

• Your Microsoft account online. This option is only available on non-domain-joined PCs. To get your recovery key, go to BitLocker Recovery Keys.
• However, when you click this all, I get is this....

This information is absolutely NOT helpful as no information is provided. I cannot get anyone to answer my question and now my Surface is stuck in safemode as a result of being unable to recover the Bitlocker. It would have been useful to know when first
getting this now useless piece of equipment as a gift that a Bitlocker key was going to be needed at some point in the future! All of this came about because of the wonderful power driver state failure which results in the inability to connect to the Internet
and me trying to fix it. Now instead of being able to periodically use my Surface, I cannot use it at all!!!!

 

BitLocker Recovery Account issue

Hello,

I have a coworker who after rebooting their laptop, received a blue screen showing a BitLocker Recovery window, where its prompting the user to enter a recovery key in order to access their laptop. This is the first encounter I have seen asking for bitlocker recovery for a user, as we never had an issue where if it did lockout a user, it never asked for a bitlocker recovery key.

We then checked the url: My Account to see if their was a bitlocker recovery key.

Their was no key to use. (attached screenshot)

So we are not sure how to proceed from here. We had another IT user tried various alternatives such as rebooting, attempting to safe mode with no luck.

Asking here for any suggestions on what to do, as this is our first experience on bitlocker recovery.
