Windows 10: NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework error

Hey I could use some helpI have a new laptop that worked completely fine until while ago when it started freezing and crashing, it turned out to be a driver issue that seems to have been fixed now but for some reason there's still an error in device manager at NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework error that says: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information in the registry is incomplete or damaged. Hello David. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

1) The Nvidia display driver is so important here that merely updating it might not be enough. Try everything here to make sure including DDU to clean out the old driver before installing new from each suggested source:

2) If no newer or different Nvidia driver fixes it then try removing the Nvidia GeForce software and reinstalling only the driver:

Nvidia Platform Controllers and Framework/Code 31/Device Manager

When updating the Nvidia driver to latest one I keep getting the error Code 31 in Device Manager. My system is Windows 10 Home, fresh install and I install drivers cleanly. I googled and found the conflict could be related to Memory Integrity in Core Isolation (Windows Device Security settings), but I have it OFF. Any hints? thanks



UPDATE: In another WIndows 10 PC with the same Nvidia driver version installed
there are no conflicts in Device Manager, and additionally, there is no "Nvidia Platform Controllers and Framework" component under "Software Devices", so maybe I can just uninstall this conflicting device by right clicking/Uninstall without any harm?

I followed the instructions you provided.

I used DDU to delete my graphics drivers, but I had some trouble navigating through your suggested driver download methods, so I just resorted to redownloading the graphic drivers using NVIDIA's website.

It worked like a charm, and the issue is no longer present! I appreciate the help.

Just for clarification, the prior issue with the driver was a "code 19" error. I noticed most of the links you provided were related to "code 31" errors. I apologize for not clarifying in my initial post. Regardless, the issue is solved. Hopefully.
