Windows 10: Nvidia drivers not working, error code 39

Hello, so I have been trying to install some drivers for my Nvidia gtx 230, I have gone to the Nvidia website and downloaded the driver installer. After trying a few different versions I finally got one that would install. So it installled and I restarted my pc, but when I go into the device manager the device still has an error.The error message is:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. Code 39 A view to a section specifies a protection which is incompatible with the initial view's protection. I have searched all over the internet a

• Do you get same error codes in the Device manager too?
• Does this issue occurs in other hardware components like keyboard and mouse?
• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Do you get same error when you connect your extenal hard drive to a different computer running Windows 10?

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

(Code 39) Ethernet isn't working on Win10

I understand the inconvenience caused to you with drivers on Device Manger, we will help you with this issue.

I would like to inform that there are several causes of Code 39 errors:

• A required device driver is missing.
• A required binary file is corrupted.
• There is a problem with the file I/O process.
• A driver that is referencing an entry point in another binary file is unable to load.

I suggest you to uninstall and re-install the driver on Device Manager as mentioned in the below support article and check if it helps:

Also, try to search for the drivers from Manufacturer's website and install them in the compatibility mode.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.

You can try to run NVidia Auto-Detect and see if that helps you in installing the NVidia drivers. You can run NVidia Auto-Detect from
NVidia website. You can also check for the pending updates on the computer and install them. Please refer the section

If the issue persists, I suggest you to try the steps mentioned below to install the drivers:

1. Press Windows key + X and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Right click on the NVidia driver and select
   Update Driver.
   
3. Click on Browser my computer for driver software.
   
4. Now, click on Let me pick from a list.
   
5. Select the NVidia MX250 driver and click on
   Next.
   
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
   
7. Restart the computer once the driver is installed.
