Windows 10: Number keypad stopped working after update

My number keypad is locked after an update. There is no numlock button available for me to press. Even when I pull up the keyboard on the screen and press numlock, it still doesn't work. I've checked the keyboard drivers and they're up to date. I don't know what else to try.

Numbers Keypad opens apps as well as typing numbers


I'm talking about the keypad at the right end of the keyboard.
When I press some number keys, apps open; if I use the numbers at the top of the keyboard, they work as usual.
I can't find this specific issue anywhere online.




1 opens Google Chrome
4 opens the volume level
7 opens the calculator
2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 work normally
Nothing is turned on in "Ease of access center"
I checked Google Chrome, and the 1 key is not set up as a shortcut



How do I stop the numbers keypad from doing this?

N 79 keypad stops working

I know this isn't a hardware issue for sure. The keypad is fine as such. Everytime I restart the phone, i can use the keypad for the first few seconds and then it just stops working. The only key that works is the power on/off switch. Any suggestions as
to how i could fix this issue ?
