Windows 10: ntkernel BSODs while gaming helldivers 2 and occasionally other games -- dmps included

Getting BSODs while playing BG3 and Helldivers 2 - ntkrnlmp.exe

I have recently begun having crashes while playing any game that is graphics heavy. I'll crash on Baldur's Gate 3 and Helldivers 2, but not on something less graphically intensive like Stardew Valley.

I have already done a clean install of Windows 11, and turned off XMP, but the issues still persist and have started to get worse. Originally just the game would crash and throw me back into the desktop, now it will BSOD and restart. Audio also seems to cut out a few seconds before the crash, as I stop hearing people talking in Discord.

Intel i5-13600K

ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI

EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING (12G-P5-3967-KR)

DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MT/s CL30-40-40-96 1.40V (F5-6000J3040G32GA2-TZ5RK)

RM850x

These are the .dmp files from the Minidump folder, I do not have Driver Verifier enabled at the moment but will enable it and respond with any updated .dmp files.

KB5039212 Causing FPS Issues in Certain Games (Helldivers 2)

Couldn't find any reports or notes regarding windows update KB5039212 and the official page lists no known issues.

I recently was playing Helldivers 2 and experienced Frame Rate issues where I was locked at 25FPS despite all settings and some other games showing no issues.

- No unusual CPU or GPU utilization or temps and all other windows were functioning as normal.

- No Graphics settings or Full Screen/Windowed changes could budge the FPS

*System is running on Windows 11 Home with a 13900K CPU and 4090 STRIX graphics card on 1440p Monitor.*

I am unsure whether it is an interaction with Nvidia Drivers or certain game engines, but once the Windows update was uninstalled from my system frame rates returned to 140FPS and operated as normal.

Posting this more as an FYI, in case there are any other people that have issues with other games that show the same response with the FPS.

 

BSODs while gaming

I ran the hardware tests suggested earlier and SeaTools, Furmark, and OCCT all came back clean. I couldn't run Memtest86 since I kept getting a black screen every time I tried booting from the USB.

I'll be doing the chkdsk overnight and I'll post the results in the morning.
