Windows 10: not enough memory to create a ramdisk device

    not enough memory to create a ramdisk device


    saw this error for some folks trying to upgrade to windows 10 but I have been on 10 for years. sometime during a reboot the error occurred and I don't know how to get past it. I have a wireless keyboard so even though it suggests hitting enter and/or F8 for startup options, the keyboard does not work.


    any help is appreciated. see below message

    There isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device


    Error code: 0xc0000017


    You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have installation media like a disc or USB device, contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.

    How much memory does computer need to run ramdisk device; I have 8 gbs...?

    There isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device

    I get the following error when trying to upgrade to Windows 10. I'm using the upgrade feature built in windows. This has happened the last 5 attempts and windows 10 redownloads after each failure. I have 500 GB of HDD space available and 8GB of memory. I've
    also disabled av, and all other non-essential services prior to beginning the upgrade hoping that would fix the issue but it has not. Any help would be much appreciated.

    after the the reboot sequence a blue screen appears that says:

    Your PC/Device needs to be repaired

    There isn't enough memory to create a ramdisk device.

    Error code: 0xc0000017

    Youll need to use recovery tools........

    Press enter to try again (this does nothing)

    Press F8 for Startup Settings (this does nothing)

    Press F9 to use a different operating system (this boots me back into my Windows 8.1 pro OS)

    Error code: 0xc0000017 Windows 10 1803 update. How much space needed for the ramdisk?

    Hi,

    Tried to upgrade to Windows 10 1803 using an iso. Not keeping any files nor apps. Just clean install

    This is the message I get:

    Your PC/Device needs to be repaired

    There isn't enough memory to create a ramdisk device.

    Error code: 0xc0000017

    Configuration:

    Atom CPU

    16GB storage

    1GB RAM

    Trying to install 32bit Windows 10 1803

    Questions:

    • Where is the ramdisk being created? In the RAM?
    • How much space do I need to create a ramdisk for Windows 10 1803?
    • Can I relocate the ramdisk to a micro SD card or other mass storage device?

    As I understood 1GB RAM is the minimum for Windows 10 32 bit. Please no bs answers... I think I've been through everything.
