Windows 10: No external video output

    No external video output


    Lenovo P50, LG 27GQ40W external monitor stopped display and detection after build 27723. Cables are seated, replaced and tested & monitor tested. Stopped working on HDMI default for years then tried USB-C to HDMI monitor, mini-display port to monitor display port. No external monitor detected. Laptop display works perfectly, just no video output to three types of the laptop's ports.

    Load this checklist video in Edge: (I'm assuming you did at least a few of these steps, since you stated you tried other suggestions earlier) Go through the list of suggestions here to try to repair YouTube for Chrome...

    I haven't gotteen to this suggestion yet - but, I've shut down half my Extensions and, now, I get the voice of the Youtube videos - but still not the video. Thought this clue might help.

    HI Josep,

    Please answer these questions to assist you better.

    • Are you able to watch videos which are stored in computer and online?
    • Are you able to view photos and documents etc. from hard drive?

    I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.



    Follow the steps and check if that helps.

    • Type Troubleshooting on Search and hit
      Enter.
    • Click on View all and click on Video playback.
    • Click on Advance and check Apply repairs automatically.
    • Follow on-screen instructions.
    By running this troubleshooter it will find and fix issue with playing movies, television and video. Do let us know if you are able to play videos from external hard drive. Thank you.
