Windows 10: No audio after latest windows update. How to fix?

The update is "2023-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB5023706" and after I downloaded this update all my audio stopped functioning. Headset, monitor, everything. I have tried so many online suggestions including updating drivers, messing around with settings as per fix tutorial, ran a virus scan just in case but still nothing. Interestingly I found that the NVIDIA audio thing says disconnected. Not sure if that was like that before the update but I doubt it. Again, I tried various fixes including drivers, etc. Did anyone else have this problem and know

Method 1:

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to download and install latest audio driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.
If Windows 10 drivers are not available, I would suggest you to install driver in compatibility mode.

To install the audio driver
in compatibility mode, I would suggest you to follow these steps:

a. Download the latest audio driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

b. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

c. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

d. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and
select latest Windows version from the drop down list.

e. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Your audio may not be working after the latest update if you have outdated audio drivers. Have you tried updating them? You may check your driver manufacturer's website for the latest drivers for it.

You may run the Playing Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with playing sound.

• Right-click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
  
• Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop-down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
  
• Locate then select Troubleshooting.
  
• Click View all from the left pane.
  
• Locate and click Playing Audio to run the troubleshooter then follow the next steps.
