Windows 10: "News and interests" keeps turning itself back on.

I have read 30 posts about this same question and I have followed every one. Regardless of what I do, I can't shut off "News and Interests". It overrides every action I try and it just puts itself back on my taskbar. I hate the fact that every time I move my mouse over it a huge pop-up comes up with irrelevant information and blocks half my screen. It's worse than spam. I paid 100 dollars for this operating system and I should be able to turn things off in the settings.

Turn off News & Interests but keep Weather

I understand that you are checking with regards to turning off News & Interest but you are looking into keeping the Weather. As of the time being you will not be able to do that as they go hand in hand and for this I would suggest to send a feedback with regards to this and you can either send it via the Feedback Hub app or via the widget itself by clicking the gear icon and click on Feedback.

Hide News and Interests in Windows 10

With the next release of Windows 10, Microsoft is testing News and Interests on the taskbar. With News and Interests, you get a quick glance of dynamic content throughout the day. This article discusses how to show or Hide News and Interests in the taskbar. As News and Interests is just a taskbar feature, you can either hide it or configure it to show the icon only.





Disable News and Interests on Windows 10

To enable or Disable News and Interests in the taskbar, see the steps below:

1. Right-click the Taskbar on the desktop.
   
2. Click News and Interests.
   
3. Select Turn off from the list of options.
   
4. If you want an icon only related to weather, select show Icon only.
   

These steps can help you disable News and Interests on the taskbar.

A few months ago another annoying thing was added to Windows called "Search highlights"

To turn off "Search highlights"

1. Right-click on taskbar
2. Select Search
3. Make sure Show search highlights is unchecked
