New windows, including Settings, always open in top left

When I open a new window for a program or even window like Windows settings, it opens in the top left corner of the display. I move it where I want. When I minimize it to the tray and then open it, it opens back at the top left. Tried various suggestions but nothing worked. Then I realized I had made a recent change to Thunderbird. I had checked the option to move TB to the tray when it is minimized. I unchecked this, closed and restart TB and the problem went away for ALL windows. The TB setting is at Tools - Settings - General - System Integration - "When TB is minimized, move to the tray

When opening new windows, they stick to the top left corner of the screen

I have no idea what is causing this but when I open new windows in any program a lot of the time they open up stuck to the top left corner of the screen. I'll move the window to the middle and then the next time I open a window again, it's back being stuck
to the top left corner of the screen. How do I make windows always open in the center of the screen by default?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Hi Mark,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to perform the steps given below and check if it helps fix the issue.

    • Press Windows key + X
      to open the Task manager.

    • Click File > Run New Task.

    • Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”.

    • Type CMD.

    • Type the following 4 commands at the CMD prompt:

      powershell

      Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    • Close the CMD window.
For the printer issue I suggest you to run the Print Troubleshooter.

    • Type Troubleshooter in search box and click Enter.

    • On the top left corner click on “View all”.

    • Select Printer from the list and follow the prompts for printer troubleshooting.
    Hope it helps.
