Windows 10: New printer scanner not installing since 24H2 update

Not sure if right place to post this. Just recently in the past week, got a new Brother MFC-L2900DW laser printer. Got it installed and can print and do a scan from pc with no issues. But can't do a scan from the printer control panel. Turns out the scanner is not installing on pc. Contacted Brother about this and they said it has to do with the new Windows 11 version 24H2 update causing the scanner to not install. If this is an issue with Windows version update, is there a solution for this besides rolling back the update? Off topic, why do I have to hit the back button several times t

Windows 10 recognizes my printer+scanner only as a printer.

Another method you may try is to uninstall and reinstall the printer. The following are the steps:



Remove your printer

• Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners.
• Under Printers & scanners, find the printer, select it, and then select Remove device.

Install or add a local printer

• Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners.
• Under Printers & Scanners, see if your printer is installed.
• If you don’t see your device, select Add a printer or scanner. Wait for it to find available printers, choose the one you want, and then select Add device.

On the other hand, we suggest also that you reach out the manufacturer of your printer/scanner for the driver availability or work around.

Printer Scanner

Hi TT,

As shown on the screen shots shown before, the printer is listed in devices, but doesnt appear with the Windows 10 printers and scanners section.

However, the printer does appear to be working at the moment, so I will let it be at that, just strange it should show on one listing but not the other.

New router installed - now having issues with scanner

I have and Envy HP Laptop - using Windows 10 with the updates completed. We installed a new router for our internet - my laptop and printer both show connected and installed however now my scanner doesn't work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling
the printer - ran through all the troubleshooting steps but still can't scan. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
