    New laptop, how do I add it to my home network of devices? my workgroup, printer, other...


    Newly purchased laptop. Already have it joined the wireless network and have great internet connection. What I need to know is how to make it see my local workgroup. I have 3 other computers and 2 printers that I am trying to connect to. I am using norton 360 but I have temporarily turned off all the firewalls to no avail. From my laptop, I can ping my computers using the dos cmd but my computers will not ping the laptop. They just timeout.

    Workgroup and Networks

    Is the workgroup a subset of a network. I have 2 laptop computers and 1 wired printer which I want to be able to interface with each other . What is the best way to set up this connection? Is there a simple step by step instruction on how to set up a
    connection? I am using windows 10 on 2 Dell PC's and a HP printer.

    Workgroup Computers are displayed as Media Devices

    I have several Win10 computers on a "WORKGROUP" network. Network location is set to private on all machines with network discovery and file and printer sharing activated. Two computers are listed as workgroup computers and two as media devices. What do I have to do in order to get the media devices to show up as workgroup computers?

    Win11 Home edition Microsoft surface workgroup Laptop unable to connect to Network printer

    Hi Team,

    can I get some solution to fix the below issue

    Laptop: Microsoft Surface

    OS: Win11 Home edition

    domain joined or workgroup: Workgroup

    We have updated the firewall setting to allow the WIFI SSID to access to the network printer.

    The issue is when accessing the printer and click connect - it takes quite a bit of time, and it says " cannot connect to the printer"

    Windows is up-to-date and the only thing I haven't done is running the windows optional updates. any other suggestions to fix this issue?

    Please advise.
