Windows 10: My system refuses to recognize an app, making it impossible to set it as default for HTTP...

The "Default Apps" page opens up a box that only lets me select from specific apps for my default for HTTP/S, anything else allows me to search my PC for the appropriate app, but not these two. To get around that, I modified the registry, setting the Userchoice for each to go to my selected browser. Today, after an update, that no longer works, I can't edit anything in userchoice, even with permissions. The only thing that changes it is the Default Apps Settings page. I have gone through the effort of adding this browser to the registry specifically so it would show up in the selection box, bu

Cannot set "Calendar" as default app

I would suggest you to try the below steps and check whether you are able to make the Calendar as default.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• Select Default apps from the left pane.
• Click on Choose default app by protocol at the bottom.
• Select the Calendar and choose an app.

• In the left pane, click on Default Apps.
• In the right pane, click on Choose default apps by file type.
• Set the default App to open .jpg files and check for status.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
