Windows 10: My RAW pictures from my camera were randomly rotated when I plugged in my SD card in File...

So, when I was about to edit my pictures on Photoshop, I noticed something weird with my pictures in File Explorer when I opened the folder. My pictures went from Portrait to Landscape even though I didn't tweak any settings on both Windows and my camera. When I tried plugging it into a different computer, everything is normal. I tried finding solutions on the internet, but there weren't any so I'm asking anybody if they've encounter this and found a solution to it.

SD Card works in camera but not in Windows

Internal one is more unreliable than usb one? Why? I find it strange that same SD-card and reader combination on same computer worked in past.

Got files from camera using USB cable. At least formating from camera did not help. Will have to see if deleting and recreating partition from linux helps.

 

SD Card, Thumbnails and Raw files

Having a problem viewing RAW camera files directly on an SD Card in File explorer. All I get is blue icons saying it's a picture file, no thumbnail of the image. I have to import them to see them!!! But I want to sort/delete the images before importing.
Now just been down Curry's and tried my card in their display desktops and laptops, and it works fine. Open file explorer, select SD card and there are all my images in thumbnails!!!! What's missing from my laptop? I'm up to date with updates, I've checked
the drivers for card reader and downloaded all the Codec files I can find. Still no joy. Is it because I did the free upgrade to Windows 10 and something was left out. Please help! As a photographer this is driving me up the wall and thinking of swapping to
Mac's

Update .... Have tried Defrag, disk clean up and Run Maintenance task and no joy. Then closed File explorer, reopened it and thumbnails were working!!!! Fantastic. Shut the comp down for the night, fired it up next day and everything back to not showing
thumbnails for RAW files. Tried again a second ago.....opened up a folder of RAW files....first 7 I could see thumbnails.....rest were the blue icon of two mountains. I had no problems with Windows 7 and beginning to loose faith in Microsoft

 

Lumia 520 camera SD card

The SD card works fine in my laptop, and in a Samsung phone. I don't think it is acceptable to suggest that the SD card is at fault if other devices can use it without problems. Searching on the internet suggests that this is a common problem with Nokia
phones not just the 520. So the question remains is it a software fault or a hardware fault with the phone.



I have just checked and I can write videos and pictures directly to the sd card with the phone plugged into a usb port.



On the sd card were files called "Camera Roll" and other which were, I think, folders but were no longer folders just small files.



The implication is that the camera application has somehow corrupted these files and because it can no longer access them is crashing out.



The phone has no difficulty reading music stored on the sd card.



In an effort to debug this quickly Is there a way of switching the saving of pictures and videos to a specific sd card on and off without performing a factory reset?



Do you really think that an application just crashing out without any explanation of what has gone wrong is acceptable?
