Windows 10: my pc is i5 11th gen and 8gb ram but can't upgrade to windows 11

I'm sure my laptop meet the requirments but it tells me that I can't upgrade to windows 11

Houston we have a problem. Microsoft has declared by a scan and a message to my update settings that this Inspiron i7 7500 will not run Windows 11 yet the Inspiron 7500 is on the the Microsoft list of machines that will run Windows 11. So which is it? Each time I got to Settings and update there is a notice in heavy text glaring at me that my laptop has been scanned by Windows update and declared NOT eligible for a

Windows 11 update yet it is on the list as being a model that will run Windows 11. I hope Microsoft will clear this discrepancy up. Which is it? I certainly will not update to Windows 11 until a scan from Microsoft tells me it is okay to do so.

My other question is simple. Is the 11th gen i5 processor running Windows 11 as fast or faster than my older 7th gen i7 processor running Windows 10?

My 7th gen i7 7500 laptop is computing fine, but due to a defect in the build the charging port is damaged. The cost of a fix I think would be better spent on a new laptop. My budget is under $1000K.

In researching what to buy next, I have a question about processors.

Is and i5 11th gen better than an i7 7th gen? So if I go gen 11th i5, will I be getting about the speed of my old 7th gen i7? My laptop has gotten notice that is not fit for Windows 11 duty yet the i7 7500 it has, is on the list of Windows 11 compatible processors. That is confusing. Some say Windows 11 will run on it anyway, but I won't be experimenting with that. 10 is just fine for now.

The problem:

My laptop could go at any minute if the charging port finally quits. Even though it remains plugged in for power the battery's charge will go down bit at times. (New battery and charger installed six months ago) To get it to charge I have to squeeze the bottom shell or body of the laptop that is trying to separate from the pressure of lifting the screen. Then I must fiddle with the plug, and move the 2 in 1 screen almost to shut position to get the battery icon to show charging mode. The charging plug is so loose it will fall out of the jack/port just as the original one would. No, it does not have another USB-C charging port. Just the old round type that's been around forever. I should have returned it on warranty. Laptop is on its 5th year.

So no more 2 in 1 screens for me. The touch ability of the screen I have has rarely been used and I never flip the laptop over making the keyboard a stand for it.

Can I expect 11th gen i5's to be as fast as my older 7th gen i7 7500? Or maybe make the big switch to the new M1 Mac Air? And, that is another question. Would all my files, created with various Microsoft OS's, load without hassle to a Mac? Do they auto convert?

New PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for windows 11

I have just built a new PC:

• MSI B560M motherboard
  
• Intel 11th gen i5 --1140
  
• 1TB M2 memory
  
• 32 GB RAM
  

I am booting from USB, Windows accepts the Product Key, but install says the machine is not Windows 11 compatible. Any ideas?
