Windows 10: My mic and speakers not being detected in win 11.

After updating my drivers, at least i think, my pc doesnt detect my mic and speakers. Not even in device manager nor control panel. Pls. help.

Laptop won't detect speaker and mic

I run W10 on a Dell Inspiron laptop. Today, my laptop stopped recognizing my speaker and mic. I had just installed update KB5016616, and now my laptop won't detect my speaker and mic. I uninstalled what I think to be the device inquest and rebooted; the driver came back, but the devices still aren't detected. (FWIW, my headphones work, but not my speaker.) I've also run dism to fix any problems with system files, but that didn't help. The devices aren't listed in "Settings," and elsewhere my AMD audio is not connected. How do I fix this?

Headset mic detected but not working on Xbox pad win 11

Ive just tried the pad on my son's Xbox. The mic works fine on there. His pad also reproduces the same fault on pc. No mic input with either pad on pc. It detects the mic as input but doesnt pick up audio, the mic test gives 0% volume.

I can't understand what software issue/setting would have survived a format and setup?

Im struggling to blame a hardware issue with it being usb. It detects the pad, headset speakers and headset mic fine. Apart from the mic not working the pad works fine. I've also tried a different cable and different ports.
