Windows 10: My media streaming options are missing in Windows 11

I have tried multiple times to fix this and I am at a loss. My control panel does not have "media streaming options" available on the left side of the screen.

There's another way on how you can turn on the Media Streaming option in your Windows 10 device. Here's how:

• Launch Windows Media Player.
• Click on Stream and choose Turn on media streaming.
• A new window will pop up. Click on the Turn on media streaming button.

If the option is still not available, we suggest creating a new user profile with administrator privileges to check if the option will appear.

Once you have verified that the option is available in the newly created user profile, you can transfer your data from the old user account to the newly created one.

Media Streaming Option Missing (Windows 11)

I cannot enable media streaming (DLNA) in Windows 11 because the option to do so has vanished from the Network and Sharing Center. I used to enable streaming from inside the old Windows Media Player, but I recently uninstalled that as I expected to use the new Media Player, and I suspect that the problem occurred when I did the uninstal. I have checked that the Media Features check box is ticked in Turn Windows Features on or off, and I have even tried first clearing the check box then ticking it again.

Nothing I do seems to bring back the option to turn streaming stream on or off so I'd be very glad of any help.

 

Media streaming options is missing from Control Panel

I was trying to set up a network media device on my computer for my smart TV to access media files but Media streaming options is missing from the left side of my Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center window.

Using Windows 11 Pro 2022H2 22621.963

I've checked programs and features and media services was checked, also tried looking for streaming options in the new Media Player but the Win11 version doesn't have that one.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!
