Windows 10: My Mai gaming laptop has no storage left my windows has no space left so nothing is...

My msi gaming laptop has no storage left and windows so nothings updating etc… I’ve tried everything.. I bought Microsoft storage and one drive but still no space…?? Yes I’m kinda computer illiterate…

Windows 10, almost no storage space left.

I have a message saying that I have almost no storage space left, and when I go through the checklist I find it's under the heading of "other" (231Gb used of 232Gb) and shows that "C:/ files at drive root" is taking up a lot of space (166Gb out of 232Gb)

I have an Acer laptop, I'm the only one using it and I don't download music, videos or films etc.

I have no idea what any of this is, where it came from, how to identify it, how to isolate and delete any unwanted files.

Can anyone please help ?

 

Left alt key does not work in video games

1. Check Game Settings:
   
   • Ensure that the left Alt key is correctly binded in the game settings. Some games may have been updated and reset the key bindings.
     
2. Run Game as Administrator:
   
   • Right-click the game's shortcut or executable file and select 'Run as administrator'. This gives the game full access to your system, which might resolve the issue.
     
3. Disable Sticky Keys:
   
   • Sticky Keys is a Windows feature that can interfere with gaming. Go to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard and make sure Sticky Keys is turned off.
     
4. Check for Software Conflicts:
   
   • Other software running in the background may be using the Alt key and causing conflicts. Close any unnecessary applications while gaming and see if that helps. Perform a clean boot.
     
5. Update Keyboard Drivers:
   
   • Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting 'Device Manager'.

No storage space left on drive in Windows 8.1

Apparently I have only 7.5 MB left of roughly 20 GB and assume the rest of the 32 are taken up by the OS. This evening, before downloading some essential windows updates, I had about 700 MB and yesterday evening I had over a GB. Prior to that i had a few
GB. So I started to remove some unused apps, and did a disk cleanup. The storage continued to decrease and the system kept failing to fully install the windows updates. Eventually it updated today with the result of effectively no space left.

As to nuking the old windows 8, do I assume nuking means getting rid of and if so, no I did not, I just followed the instructions to download it over the existing 8 same as I did with my desktop. It did worry me at the time as I felt it to be a messy sort
of solution but I just followed the instructions.
