Windows 10: my laptop's fan is turned off, and i dont know why and how to turn it back on

This morning, the fan suddenly went off. I searched on google to find some help but I can't. I tried to clean the fan with the hope that it would work. Without the fans, I can't do anything because the keyboard is getting really hot and the system loads slower and slower over time.

Laptop fan not always turning on

I am having an issue on my Inspiron 15 where my cooling fan doesnt always start up. For example, ill start up the laptop, and start web browsing or playing a game, and the fan will never turn on. I have had it overheat and shut off a few times. But if i restart the laptop manually (start>power>restart), it will spin up automatically as it should. But then after a few more restarts, i will have a session where the fan will never turn on. Right now my only solution, besides a restart, is to use the program Speedfan, and ramp the fans to 100%. Does anyone know why its doing this? My other Inspiron 15, running a Broadwell i7 and Windows 10, has no issues at all.

Here is a tip is you cant fix it, make it noticeable that you broke it...step on it *Wink "Oh my gawd, did i step on your lil ol laptop, im terribly sorry" Then she has no choice but to buy a new one.

 

My hp laptop wont turn on

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power
