Windows 10: My laptop only turns on when I jumpstart it with the charger and press the power button...

My laptop is 10 years old Acer V5-573. The battery life that should last around 6 hours became poor over the past few years and it would die within 2 hours unless I had the charger plugged in. Ever since, I always used the laptop with the charger plugged in. However I recently replaced the battery with a new one and now the laptop is lasting up to 7.5 hours without the charger being plugged in. However the problem I have noticed before and after I replaced the battery, is that my laptop would not turn on when I pressed the power button the first time, even when the battery was 100%. It wou

Hi,

As per the screen shot that you have send, I suggest that you perform Power Drain and check if you are able to access your desktop. To do so follow the steps below

• Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
• Press and hold the Power button for 30sec
• Plug the charger/power cord and restart system

My hp laptop wont turn on

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power

Laptop won't boot after Windows 10 update; power button unresponsive

As a first step in testing, try disconnecting the battery. Then see if it the power button will turn on the PC with the charger lead is connected. It should work without a battery. If so, then it would seem conclusive that a dead battery is preventing it from powering up.
