    After a security alert I called the shown number, when I realized that it is fake, I shut down the call, now my Laptop is locked down

    Fake Microsoft Security Alert or Not?

    On my I phone I received a Microsoft Security Alert, It had the Microsoft 4 square logo and asked me to call 850 400 3422. I did not receive the e mail on my computer?? When I called the number it advised that the number was not available at this time and
    to call back later?? I tried to check the IP address and it showed *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. The browser gmail.com com threw me a bit. Bottom line is this a fake microsoft address and should it be ignored?

    Fake Virus Alert Popups with Edge browser

    Check that the tab it starts with is unpinned. When that site opens click the lock icon in address bar and block notifications. Just some suggestions.

    Computer locked with Microsoft security alert.

    Computer is locked with MicroSoft security alert. I have Chrome OS. I tried control shift escape but nothing happened. It didn't open task manager. The number to call listed as 877 570 7676. Lots of flashing.. and voice encouraging me to not shut down, etc. How do I get out of this? I don't use any Windows
