Windows 10: My HP SK-2880 Keyboard does not work

I tried uptading uninstalling the driver but no matter what i do my pc wont recognize the usb device. I tried changing power settings there is nothing i can do with the bios i cannot get it to work. 3 lights turn on for a second as i plug it and windows knows its plugged in but it wont work. It does show in the usb driver category in device manager but it does not show in keyboard category. Im using Windows 8.1 Pro the system is I7 3610QM 6GB DDR3 Sodimm 4+2 has 3 usb ports, 2 are attached by a ribbon cable to the motherboard 1 is attached directly to the motherboard. Intel hd 4000 graphics.
