Windows 10: My HP ProBook 4340s audio drivers and devices are corrupted.

So i wanted to install a game for my laptop and when i finished installation it asked me if i want to restart now or later. The thing is, when i clicked on restart now, i forgot that the disc was still in my laptop.


The first thing that happened was that my pc booted into automatic recovery and the log file was in System32/Logs/Srt... but there isnt a folder called Srt in the logs folder. I restarted my laptop a couple of times but it still didn't work. I then just reset the laptop and keep my personal files and as it did work out, my audio drivers are gone missing. When i try to do the "add legacy hardware" method of manually adding Realtek and IDT drivers, it just says: "This device can't start. Code 10" or "A device attached to the system is not functioning." IDT won't even install but for RealTek it says this: "This device cannot start. Code 10. The request is not supported."


I tried everything and i mean everything. scf /scannow, windows updates, uninstalling and installing the drivers, everything. Here is some more info if it helps anything:


-The little speaker icon on the bottom has a red x on it, is says speaker setup UNKNOWN, i have no devices listed in the sound control panel, if i try to update the RealTek drivers, it will fail and the drivers would just dissapear with the a device attached to the system is not functioning message.


I'm sad because the laptop didn't have system restore on so i could go back and have everything be alright. What are my options? Does doing a reset without choosing the "Keep my personal files" do anything? Thank you.

Windows 10 up-to-date.

HP Probook 450 G2

HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless.

After finding a post where it was better to use MS drivers for the Realtek audio device (on an HP Probook as it happens), I wondered if Win10 can supply adequate MS drivers for the HP Officejet 8000? Historically it has been essential to install the HP drivers.
But maybe that has changed?

My HP Probook is showing an error in Devices and Printers (D&P) which is "driver for Hp Officejet Pro A809 is not installed".

This is after the HP drivers were installed and the conundrum is that the printer works fine.

But there are other annoying issues which may or maynot be related eg

• The D&P dialogue taking a minute or so to display
• The settings Find a Setting field likewise taking 30 seconds to show any results.

Windows 10 64-bit Bluetooth drivers for HP Probook 4520s

I cannot locate any Windows 10 64-bit Bluetooth drivers to connect my Jambox speaker to my HP 4520s Notebook.

On the HP site, Win 10 is not even an option listed under
Operating System but I've searched the site anyway.



History: I did the Windows 10 Pro 64-bit upgrade with their download coming from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Device Manager does not show any Bluetooth device attached, and my attempts to pair the Jambox with the Probook results in no devices found. The Jambox
worked fine with Win 7 drivers prior to the upgrade. The Wi-Fi works perfectly.



I have tried several Win 7 drivers, Win 8 drivers, and Intel drivers, but no joy!

HP is unable to provide any assistance on this matter.

Anyone have an answer?
