Windows 10: My ethernet connection has randomly stopped working, now ethernet says not connected but...

Hello,My ethernet randomly stopped working a few days ago, and I have been unable to fix it. I have tested the same setup with a different computer, so I know it isn't a cable/router/isp issue. As I said in the title the ethernet says 'not connected' but switches to 'no internet' every few minutes or so control panel goes from 'network cable unplugged' to 'identifying...' at the same time as the switch. The ethernet lights on my MOBO are off but flash when these other things change as well. This is making me think the issue is software based, as my computer seems capable of recognizing it bu

Ethernet Connection Occasionally Drops

On occasion my ethernet connection drops and an auto-configuration address gets assigned by Windows 10. I purchased an ethernet card thinking the problem with the ethernet that is built into the motherboard, but the ethernet connection still randomly drops. The ethernet connection will randomly start working again. Yes, I disabled the onboard ethernet in the BIOS, so conflicts would not be an issue. I have no idea if the issue can be fixed or not. I have had this issue since I purchased this used computer in 2019. If it is the motherboard, then I will just live it with until the computer is replaced. I realize the issue is probably not easily fixable, but any suggestions will be appreciated. The DNS shown is the DNS of my VPN provider. Let me know if you need any other information.

 

Ethernet randomly stopped working

I've been using the ethernet connection with no problems and it suddenly stopped working.

I have reset the router, the ethernet and my PC and done a network reset but nothing has worked.

The main error code i have been receiving is "ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration"

Nothing I have googled has worked so far. It was saying connected to ethernet for most of this but wasn't working due to the above error. But since resetting the network it now says "No Internet Access".

Windows 10 Ethernet connection randomly disconnects

So this issue has been annoying me since i have changed my old i5-4670 with a ryzen.

Ethernet: Realtek 8111H (MSI X370 Gaming Plus)
Modem/Router: Airties Air 5760

What i have tried so far to fix my issue:

• Re-installing Windows
• Updating Ryzen chipset drivers
• Updating Realtek LAN drivers (both from MSI & Realtek)
• Updating MSI' LAN releated drivers (MSI Gaming Lan Manager)
• Replacing ethernet cable
• Restarting router to factory settings

Still no luck, keeps happening randomly. Sometimes it is stable for days then it is not stable for 20 mins. Happening when gaming or idle, or while streaming via steam link.
Windows' own issue fixer thingy fix the issue for the moment, re-plugging the cable, disabling & enabling the ethernet adapter also fixes the issue for the moment.
Also i am the only one having this issue in the network, TV and phones are still connected to wifi.

It is started to be real annoying, so time to get help to fix the issue from TPU. Thanks in advance! *I Love TPU :lovetpu:
