Windows 10: My Desktop Microphone Array Intel Smart Sound Technology Intel SST started making buzzing...

Few days ago my Desktop Microphone Array Intel Smart Sound Technology Intel SST started making buzzing sounds when i record a voice message over skype or viber on computer or when i join an online google/zoom meetings. How can i fix it?

Description

No audio output after system update or driver update or BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) update.



Resolution

Open Device manager

In System devices > Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller

Right click and select Update driver

Select Browse my computer for driver software

Select let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer

Select High Definition Audio controller and install.

Many thanks for this. I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5490 laptop and the internal microphone stopped working recently.

I was on a support call with Dell for 45 minutes yesterday and they decided I needed to send the laptop back for a hardware replacement of the microphone! This fix has saved all the hassle of having to send it back for an unnecessary hardware repair.

I am having the exact same problem listed above, and successfully uninstalled the driver, and after restarting it reappeared again with the yellow triangle. I installed the Assistant but it did not help in reinstalling or updating the "Intel(R) Smart
Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED" driver. What next?
