Windows 10: Moving files on the same partition takes very long time!

When moving files from one directory to a different directory on the same partition, I have to wait about some minutes while the computer is calculating time/space requirements before the request goes through. It seems to me that the disk is first completely read the file and then it moves it. When the calculation finishes, the files are moved, immediately and quickly.Hard Disk is new, and it's not faulty. It's connected to SATA port.When i disconnect the drive and put it to USB-dock it goes normal, it move a folder in a second.Things that I have triedRestarted the machineRan chkdsk c: /f to f

Move page file to another partition -Should I?

Moving your page file to a separate drive may help, but moving it to a different partition unfortunately doesn't, as all the work is still being done by the same drive. It may in fact be slower due to making the drive spend more time seeking.

Yes, just create a new partition using the free space.

But, remember, if things can go wrong... they will at the most inopportune moment.
You might wanna make a disk image(or back-up) of the files first.

Move page file to another partition -Should I?

I don't see how moving the page file to a different partition will help performance. It's still physically on the same disk even if it's on a different partition.

I wouldn't bother.
