Windows 10: Mouse pointer style changes to white instead of inverted every time the screen is locked

I am visually challenged and rely on accessibility features. I want to set and use the mouse pointer style to 'inverted' to assist me. But even though I set it to inverted within the 'Mouse pointer and touch' settings, it reverts to white after some period of time or if I lock my screen and unlock again. The settings menu still shows the style set as 'inverted' but actually it switches to white and I have to unset and set it to inverted again for it to work.For context I'm on Windows 11 and this is a very frustrating issue. Can someone please let me know if this is a known bug or if there is a

Mouse pointer

As i am visually challenged, I find the extra large inverted mouse pointer helpful. However, the pointer setting reverts to a barely visible small white black outline whenever I change contrast colors, sizing, etc. This tiny setting also establishes itself
at boot up. I have to regularly change the setting back to the preference noted.

How do I lock in the mouse pointer setting so it stays as set?

The inverted (color) mouse cursor / pointer is sometimes hidden/blocked.

Hello, I've been using the standard "inverted-colors" mouse pointer for years. I just upgraded to a new PC with Win 11, (from Win 10). The mouse pointer always worked as it always did everywhere all the time.

Issue: On the new Win 11 PC, some apps don't render the "inverted-colors" pointer while it is within the window. It always works on window title-bars, taskbars, and within a few pixels of compatible windows (nearly everything). The last item is weird, because there seems to be a transparent "buffer area" surrounding web browser windows, Windows settings app windows, file explorer windows, and most others, where the inverted cursor works over-top-of the "background-only" incompatible window (when it passes though the boundary it is hidden).

It doesn't matter if the incompatible window is full-screen or windowed, solid-color cursors always work, the inverted style doesn't, (but worked on Win 10).

Factorio (the game) is just the first example of an app where the inverted-colors pointer broke for me.

All drivers and Win 11 Home OS up-to-date.

 

inverted mouse colur keeps resetting

I'm severely sight impaired, and i'm using a Windows 10 PC laptop, magnifier (swiyches on automatically) and inverted colour mouse pointer. Only almost every time i start my computer or wake it from sleep or if a system administrator dialogue box pops up, my mouse will turn white. just your standard white cursor.

Every time this happens i go to the "change mouse colour" setting and inverted mouse colour is still selected, but my mouse is white. I've reset the laptop recently due to problems with updates, but that did not fix the issue. sometimes it seems the mouse will only stay inverted for an hour then it'll be back to white, even though the inverted setting is still selected.

My computer is up to date, i'm using a bluetooth mouse with a USB receiver as well as my laptops trackpad.

Please tell me how to make my cursor stay inverted.
