    Vertical lines behind text cursor. HELP!

    Hi,

    It is possible that the vertical lines behind text cursor that you see, is can be due to corruptions. To better isolate your concern, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Is there a way for you to provide us a screenshot?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Mouse Cursor Changing to Vertical Line.

    Windows 10 Self-changing mouse cursor - Tried suggestions already

    Problem: Normal (default) mouse cursors changed to vertical bars (varying) made of dots or horizontal lines of differing heights & widths. Effects
    multiple applications.

    Environment: Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 8.1. All updates in place. HP laptop with external optical mouse.

    Actions taken: Uninstalled Avast! anti-virus & installed Norton Security. Reinstalled drivers for both mouse & trackpad. Attempted correcting via Mouse control panel settings (individual settings, themes, etc.) to no avail.

    Do no recall doing anything specific prior to this behavior (e.g. software installations, upgrades, etc.) Could this be the result of a virus? Any suggestions besides steps already taken would be much appreciated!
